10 Things a creative needs to know...

  1. Know the value of your work
  2. Protect your work and your brand
  3. Know your client and what they want
  4. Who owns your work?
  5. Non-Disclosure Agreements
  6. Don't agree to something without thinking about it first
  7. Never sign something without reading it and understanding it
  8. Consultant, contractor, employee or worker?
  9. What to do if someone steals your ideas/designs
  10. Get to know a friendly lawyer
Terms agreement seem to be a really solid strategy for small to medium clients
They can be a useful tool to make sure that there's a perfectly clear understanding between you and your client as to what the project consists of
Terms agreement = 'the same as a contract that maybe is written slightly easier to read language which just sets out the parameters of a project. Whereas contracts can be very intimidating documents and by their very nature are often obfuscating'
